The Pragmatic Web

The Pragmatic Web enables end-users to bridge the gap between existing and relevant information on the Web through the use of multimodal end-user programmable agents.

Pragmatic Web = Web + End-User Development

The goal of the Semantic Web is to migrate Web content from (only) human readable to machine readable and processable. However, reaching critical mass is hard. To be useful a big part of the current content of the Web needs to be enriched with machine-readable metadata that describes the content. Moreover, international user/developer communities may never agree on a common standard of the metadata needed. Finally, the Semantic Web is being developed with no end-user development in mind.

What is wrong with the Web?

In contrast to the Syntactic and Semantic Web the Pragmatic Web is not about form or meaning of information but about how information is used.

The Pragmatic Web does not aim to replace Semantic Web.

It can ALREADY use the Syntactic Web

It is about providing tools to end-users!
